I have a coffee table I want to convert into a dinning table?

How would I go about doing that? If you know how I would not mind emailing pictures so you can see it to get a better idea. It is a square table and I love it very much and spent alot of time sanding and painting it but we recently got a coffee table from father in law and so.... Thanks for the help in advance!

Details:

  1. If the table is particularly sturdy, you will only need to add some bracing at the corners and some table legs. My local home improvement store sells a couple basic legs and square ones are easy to find. I've included a link for turned table legs. If the table is not sturdy, you might consider adding some 2x2's on the underneath side using wood glue, predrill the holes with a drill bit just smaller than your screws. And be sure your screws won't protrude through the wood to the top surface.
  2. Don't do anything to the table. Just put cushions around it and sit on the floor to eat. I think that would really be neat.
  3. You'll need to buy 4 new legs the proper height and mount them.
